August 3rd to August 5th - The 2018 Mohawk Trail Challenge
Arriving Friday, you may check in to the Country Aire Campground after 3 pm and set up your camp at our Safari Field Group Site on Chickadee Ln. Your ticket is your tee shirt purchase. Each site reservation includes 2 adults and 3 children. More than 2 adults or 3 children will require additional fees for the campground. Look for volunteers at our sign in table and pick up your goodies upon arrival before setting up your camp.
Our first trail ride of the weekend starts promptly at 9 pm Friday night and is expected to return by 1 am. (During camp quiet hours - we have permission to re-enter the campground quietly.) We HIGHLY recommend high quality flashlights for safety AND for viewing the scenery out the window as we travel through and to terrain and local features like The Zoar Gap and The Hoosac Tunnel.
Saturday morning we will be leaving no earlier than 9 am and no later than 10 am for a FULL DAY of trails and difficult overland travel. (Day trip participants are expected to arrive by 9 am, air down and disconnect immediately for off-road travel.) These trails have NO GO AROUNDS and will have minimum requirements based on the ledge obstacles that we are required to navigate. 33 inch tires and two lockers or 33 inch tires and one locker and a winch MINIMUM. These requirements will keep our group moving throughout the day. Remember, this ride is not about making any one obstacle, it's about making the WHOLE TRAIL. We will strictly enforce a three strike rule at obstacles to keep the whole group moving.
Saturday night, we plan to hit a local pub for dinner together. This is not included in the event pricing.
Sunday morning, we will tackle more trails based on interest. Check out time is noon and we can make arrangements if needed for late check out.
Don't forget cameras, food for the weekend, non-alcoholic beverages for the trails, proper attire for the weather, protection from bugs and ticks and/or other seasonal concerns.

Massachusetts OHV Registrations:
Massachusetts laws, Chapter 90b, require vehicles operated for recreation off-road or on unimproved roads, on public and private property, to be registered as an ATV through the Massachusetts Environmental Police Bureau of Registrations.
Mohawk 4x4 Adventures does not require members to have this completed to participate at this time, but we do highly recommend it. You may be subject to tickets by law enforcement without it and could be ticketed. This is your responsibility to be legal when off-roading in Massachusetts.
Registration is easy to complete by mail, as long as your rig meets the club’s requirement of a valid street registration in your home state. Some registrations require an exemption of sales tax form is submitted along with your vehicle registration. This just proves that you have paid sales tax if it was required and the vehicle is not stolen. Our club does require proper registration in your state, so it should be a straightforward process for members to register 4WD vehicles used in the club.
You receive two decals for your vehicle with your registration number, one expiration date, and a card you must carry with you that is your permit.
